At least try....

There is a phrase I really dislike hearing. That is when you pitch an idea or a suggestion and the person says, "oh, that won't work", "we tried it before, I don't believe it will work". Actually someone just said that to me the other day. The funny thing is, we never worked together and they never met me before. So here I was wondering, how come this person could shut down an opportunity so quickly based on very little fact and just using emotion. they judged my ability on the outcome of the activity using their past and they did not even give me the opportunity to prove myself. Or did they think I was not capable at all? that is a biased and annoying thought.

You know what? I did it anyway without their support, I went ahead and did it anyway and my suggestion did actually work. My approach worked! You may ask yourself... Did the person come back and acknowledge me??? The answer is no, because according to them it wasn't supposed to happen, so acknowledging me meant they were wrong.

We meet many pessimists in our life. unfortunately pessimism is a negative mental attitude in which an undesirable outcome is anticipated from a given situation. Pessimists tend to focus on the negatives of life in general and sometimes these folks will tell you that life has no intrinsic meaning or value.

They always see the glass half empty and want to point it out to everyone. Funny thing is that they actually call themselves realists. OK, enough bashing of pessimists.

Being an optimist, I do believe that anyone has the ability to change if they really wanted to. Ultimately, being a positive thinker starts with self-awareness. Listen to yourself. Listen to how you view your world and opportunities in general. Acknowledge that we are in this world for a reason and that the square foot space we occupy in this world is actually for a purpose. once you find your why, you will be closer to finding your purpose in this world. I cannot encourage people enough to make gratitude a priority. Be grateful for your existence. Many didn't wake up to see one more day or even have the physical and mental abilities we have. We are not lucky, we are here on purpose. The more we realize that, the more we recognize that we have a job to do. It might be small in other people's eyes, but it's big to us. if we can do many of the small things, the snowball and become the big things.

Today, my niece made reference to 2 Corinthians 5. I think its appropriate for this message. Meditate on it and be blessed as you try to find your purpose in life.

2 Corinthians 5:5-8

"Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge. Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord— for we walk by faith, not by sight—read more.

we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord."

Saints, do start by trying. Soon you will be doing.

Stay blessed.
